CERTIFIED MYOSKELETAL THERAPIST: Prevent chronic pain from occurring (or reoccurring). Find balance in the 'whole' body w/ Erik Dalton's Myoskeletal Alignment approach. The goal is to prevent and treat common strain patterns caused by muscle imbalances that can result from tension, trauma and/or poor posture. I combine myofascial release, muscle energy work, active & passive stretching, neuromuscular assessment techniques and more for an effective outcome. www.erikdalton.com
DEEP TISSUE: This particular type of massage is for overworked and fatigued muscles. Deep Tissue is used to release chronic patterns of muscular tension. This massage uses slow strokes, direct pressure, or friction, usually on a focused problem area. The movements are directed across the grain of the muscles (cross-fiber friction). Strokes are applied w/ greater pressure and at deeper layers of the muscles than the traditional massage strokes.
NEUROMUSCULAR: Retrains damaged or affected muscles to release restrictions and imbalances caused by, for example: vehicle accidents, physical trauma, poor range of motion, Parkinson's, Muscular Dystrophy, MS, etc.
PARAFFIN WAX TREATMENT: Provides deep, sustained heat to the points of your hands and wrists/feet and ankles. This treatment signals your brain to naturally send more of the body's own lubricants to the joints/where it is needed.
HOT STONE MASSAGE: Thermo-therapy ... involves general application of warm stones (sometimes cool) in conjunction with deep tissue and/or relaxation massage or meridian therapy. Prolonged localized application of heat produces vasodilation and increases circulation of fluids in the area of focus. Increased circulation enhances the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the organs and nerve cells, as well as polarity balancing benefits derived from the stone's geomagnetism.
REFLEXOLOGY (Certified Foot Reflexologist): The principle of dividing the body into ten zones ... aiding us in our ability to locate the reflexes in the feet relative to every part of the body; organs, glands, nerves, etc. Reflexology is used to relieve many an ache or pain by removing obstructions i.e. energy blockages, and freeing circulation, thus giving tone to nerve and muscle tissue.
FULL BODY REFLEXOLOGY: Body alignment techniques from the top of your head to the tip of your toes i.e. hips, legs, low back, pelvis, sacrum, shoulder blades, tailbone, sciatic, neck, etc. Also unblocks body toxins (foot reflexology included),
ONCOLOGY MASSAGE: Massage for cancer - bodywork that is adapted to your particular cancer situation. Treatments such as surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, as well as medications can all take a vast toll on the body. The goal of oncology massage is to enhance natural healing and support the body during the process. Oncology massage can actually assist your own body in the healing process and help to reconnect the mind, body & spirit.
CORPORATE CHAIR MASSAGE: A portable specialized chair for seated massage is used. Chair massage is often found in the work place where business individuals can receive the benefits of massage while fully clothed. Massage is a great way to reduce stress and bring healthy blood/energy to depleted areas of the body. With a few minutes if massage, the recipient will feel rejuvenated with a sense of well-being.
REIKI (ENERGY WORK) The Usui System of Natural Healing: This therapy supports the body's own energy; revitalizing body, mind and spirit. Reiki relieves fatigue and anxiety, accelerates the healing process after surgery, helps prevent and/or add relief to that "burnout" feeling. Reiki integrates easily into conventional healthcare as it has no contraindications, offers rapid stress reduction, facilitates the delivery of invasive interventions, and empowers physicians and patients alike with a simple effective technique of self-healing. Reiki is a non-invasive hand placement technique on your fully clothed body, and can be incorporated into any massage therapy modality.
FACE & SCALP: This massage includes the neck & shoulders. You've got to experience this to appreciate it. Relieves headaches, neck & back pain and generalized tension. Improves circulation, lifts energy levels, which improve concentration. Gives sense of general well-being and peacefullness. Releases pent up emotions ... the benefits are endless.
CRANIAL-SACRAL THERAPY: is a gentle, non-invasive method of evaluating and enhancing the function of a physiological body arrangement called the cranial-sacral system. This manual therapy enhances the body's natural healing process and has proven effective in treating a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction within the cranial-sacral system. This therapy can be incorporated in other massage therapy modalities.
MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE: Strokes applied are intended to stimulate the movement of the lymphatic fluids in order to assist the body in cleansing. This is a gentle, rhythmical technique that cleanses the connective tissue of inflammatory materials and toxins, enhances the activity of the immune system, reduces pain, and lowers the activity of the sympathetic nervous system. MLD assists in moving the lymph through the body.
EAR CANDLING: An ancient, natural, painless, non-invasive American Indian method of cleaning the ears.
CASTOR OIL PACKS: Castor oil has been used throughout the ages as a natural therapy ... applied externally in the form of packs, and is very popular with natural health practitioners. Castor oil packs are used to improve assimilation, elimination, and circulation; especially of the lymphatic system.
SHIATSU: Similar to accupressure; shiatsu concentrates on unblocking the flow of life energy and restoring balance to the meridians and organs in order to promote self-healing. This treatment brings about a sense of relaxation while stimulating blood and lymphatic flow. The benefits of this treatment may include pain relief and a strengthening of the body's resistance to dis-ease and dis-order.
I also do CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME techniques, as well as FIBROMYALGIA BODYWORK TECHNIQUES in which I am certified.
